Pottery is the art of creating items out of clay, the most obvious examples being the eponymous clay pots. It also extends to cover anything which requires a significant amount of clay to be built, such as a clay oven, as well as being required in small amounts by anything which uses clay as a mortaring agent, such as a smelting furnace. While generally not terribly lucrative, pottery is a staple craft of civilized life.
The raw materials required for making pottery goods can be collected from clay patches in swamps; the clumps found in a patch can be packed together into a clay block for easy storage and travel. Many pottery goods require a potter's wheel to be thrown upon, and most need to be baked in a lit kiln or otherwise hardened by heat and time before they are ready for use.
